I really didn't understand what we did Thursday and Friday. I understand we need the two equation for the area and perimeter, then what ever one it asked to find. If in the question it say you need to have "x" in your finally equation, you first need to solve for "y". Then you can plug "y" into the equation you want in the end. So you have only "x" on the one side of the equals sign. So the equation your need in the end would be A= (x) (200-24x) If you finding for area of a rectangle or square and y equals 200-24x. That is how I understand it. I don't know if that is helpful to anyone but it helped me to explain how I understand it and now more confident in the way to do it.
