This tri is coming to an end but Ive learned a lot. At first I wanted to switch classes because of the said to be difficulty. I obviously persevered and decided to stay in the class. Im happy i did because of the knowledge I obtained. Also I timed the DEV porject well considering im done and can now focus on the ACT.

Since the time we had was cut short, we lost alot of time to learn things in class- I'm actually upset about that, because no matter how I act Math is fun- So our new unit was cut quite short, and new ideas left to next week.
I hope that this week we have enough time to learn new things.

My reflection on the class is positive this week. This polynomial unit is a work in progress. Although i still have to study the subject, i'm not completley lost like I was on the other units. Also I was happy with my test score. This good grade leaves the two other test for me to make corrections, thanks to you!

Not much to talk about only 2 days of actually being in school.....
However, I thought it was kind of funny when I was in my economics class and Mrs. Pierce was telling us about supply and demand graphs and she used the word inverse to describe them. Even though it was our first unit I thought it was kind of funny how it popped up in a different class cause a lot of times the stuff we learn we'll never really use again.
Other from that, I can now do my DEV problem that deals with factoring cubics.
If anybody remembers from this 4 day weekend.

Getting the test back was disappointing to me. I've never done that bad on a test before in my life, especially in math. But I definitely am doing text corrections and I also want to go over a lot of it with you. Thank you for putting a curve on the test though, that will help my grade a little and will make me feel not so bad about this. The new stuff that you taught us this week seems pretty easy, but i'll need to study to be able to memorize everything. I'm determined to get a better grade on this unit test. Also, the DEV project will help my grade a ton. I have a pretty solid group and I feel like everything will go great.

Delving into some new territory and I feel slightly more comfortable than past weeks. Hopefully this unit continues this trend.

The Dev project was something interesting that came into play. A test to not only see your comprehension, but your own ability to create and solves problems; I love the whole idea of it. While Mr.Jackson was describing it I had ideas swirling around in my head. I Just hope that the ideas I have can be done.

I remember on Friday while we were working on our D.E.V. (with a little help from Mr. Jackson) I got this great problem. I got it all written out, and now I have no clue how to solve it. So I show it to Mr. Jackson and he's like we're going to learn this next week. This is factoring but it's cubic factoring. I felt kinda good that I made up something that was advance. :)

This week may have been my most successful week in this class not including that terrible test. I think I'm going to enjoy the polynomials unit. The graphing of them and writing factored equations has come quite easily and I'm hoping that this continues throughout the rest of this unit. I also have started this Dev project and I feel as if I'm going to be successful in it as well.

One cool moment in class is when you explained how math is used all over. I never thought deep enough to consider how much math appears in my life. As much as when im on spring break and there is a shell. I will now look at life differently

Week 7
Well, week 7, what can I say? I felt lost at first, I thought I got a grasp on things later in the week only to be knocked down and kicked in the teeth again. These tests are actually pretty fun, they really make you feel like you know absolutely nothing! Not to mention there's only a few throughout the trimester so if you end up doing poorly then, my friend, your grade takes an irredeemable blow.

Last week was pretty good until the test. I had studied every night in preparation for this test because this class is very challenging for me. Once I got the test I felt like I had never seen any of that stuff before. I know that all of that stuff was on the review but it really felt like you made the questions 10x more difficult than most of the worksheets and the review. I didn't see as much factoring that I had hoped for on the test because I finally got it and can understand it and I was so excited to be able to get those points. I'm very glad that I still have my test correction because I feel like I'll definitely be using it on this one. This class is very demanding and I knew that walking into it, I've just never really had to study for a math class before so its very strange having this on my plate as well. I'll continue working at it until I understand it because it's driving me crazy that I don't.

Looking back on this week I know there are days where I could have tried harder but its so hard to try when even when I do try it still doesn't make sense. I studied for the test majorly all week and then when I got to the test it was like some of the problems I had never seen before. I just am waiting for the day that this class makes sense but until then I will continue to try my best.

Well I clearly remember at the end of the test was an inverse problem and I remembered exactly what to do. However I had a problem with the problem. I had to redo it like three times. Finally I found my problem. When you switch the x's with the y. I switched the numerator x but not the denominator x. When I finally did that, everything else fixed itself. I was beginning to worry about my math skills.

Then when it came, I took a deep breath and began. To be honest, it was exactly like the review packet, which was a good thing considering all the work I put into that. not finishing it entirely in the hour given nearly gave me a heart attack, but going back into it I relaxed once more and finished strong.
So at the end of it I felt pretty good about the test as a whole, and I put a lot of work into making sure I did my best. Now I hope that it was the best I could do.
I wonder what next weeks new unit is going to be about? I'm very curious in what we shall be learning next.

Week 6
I currently feel rather good about the upcoming test and the material that is going to be on it. After I retook that quiz it made it easier and less stressful. This class certainly does make me feel unintelligent at times but I'm certainly working through it as I start to understand the material. The future is bright for me!
week 6
I feel as though this week went really well for me, well at least Thursday and Friday. With the new thing that we are doing it is really helping me to understand previous things that I didn't quite comprehend. I still need to retake that quiz from last week, the first retake did not go well at all but like I said before, I believe with the new stuff I've got this with a little more practice. I'm kinda nervous for whenever we take our next test, but I think studying will help me out with it.
