D.E.V. Project - Nikki

 

 

I feel this D.E.V. project helped me understand the concepts I chose every well. Explaining these problems strengthen my own understanding. Having to write down and explain why made me understand it even better. I feel for anyone to understand the more difficult problems they first have to completely understand the basic problem. An example of this is my second problem is basic but if I didn't completely understand that who could I explain a more difficult problems. Then looking at the more difficult problem it is the same except a couple more steps. So putting the couple more steps at the bottom the willing to learn student understands the concept better. I feel this trimester I have become very good at factoring. I explained the diamond and area method in my 4th problem that I learned this trimester that I understand every well. The concepts I chose made the most sense in the explanation of my understanding. I can do harder problems but I don't fully understand how to explain them. This is why I chose the concepts I felt confident in. Feel that this project although helpful, limited the problems I chose because I want an 'A' on this project I just stuck with the problems I knew and confident with. I also had more then this project going on so it made this project stressful. I feel in the future to have people challenge themselves maybe have a column on the rubric that describes how a problem can change to change a student. I feel the idea of Challenging is different from person to person so what I think is hard is different then Mr. Jackson. Also to reliefs some of the stress maybe make the project earlier on in the tri so it is not around exams and other projects. I feel this project helped me understand the concepts better but could be improved for next time.
